“I play soulful jazzy electronica; combining pre-recorded, looped & live elements (trumpet, swiss alphorn, lyrics, keys, beatbox). My style is melodious/conscious “from the heart” music with danceable beats. As a horns player I have played various genres like Maori/Irish/Folk/Reaggae/Funk in bands. I have also created visuals for every part of every song.”

Are sound and music mighty allies to connect with and grow our human potential? To Sam, this has always felt to be true. His first love, the Trumpet still features in most of his songs, while he deeply values his Swiss Alphorn for its generous and carrying mountain sound. Sam startet by playing the Cornet in a uniformed Swiss village band. Playing in a variety of bands Sam grew to be a touring artist thanks to the many opportunities of the lively Aotearoa/NZ music scene when living in Taranaki for almost a decade. In a little cottage under the maunga, Sam developed his unique style of soulful jazzy electronica by combining acoustic & electronic sounds with a positive message and touching visuals.

Releasing his debut album “safe & sound” in 2016, Sam followed up touring through various European countries with his second album “quantum hug” after moving back to Switzerland. Sam is visiting his other homeland and continues to combine jazzy Trumpet, keys, the Alphorn and groovy loops with a heartful message of love, healing and growth. Sam is an experienced host of improvised music radio shows & festival workshops and will finish his studies to become an approved music therapist in the near future.
