Tyson Smith is a guitarist/singer/songwriter whose original music combines elements of blues, folk, rock, world music and freeform improvisation. Originally hailing from the South Island, Tyson has been based in Wellington the last decade after various musical meanderings overseas.
He’s worked as a guitarist with acts ranging from the NZSO to Hollie Smith, before focusing on his own music in the last few years. In 2014 he released his second album “The Hollow Tree” featuring Rick Cranson (Little Bushman) and Ed Zuccollo (Trinity Roots). Since then Tyson has been performing regularly around various New Zealand venues and festivals with his unique, raw and exciting sound.
