Woven Talon

With songs born amidst the forest, fire, river and shore, Woven Talon’s composer and instrumentalist Andrew Tumason channels earthy rhythms and hypnotic strings, opening a river for ancient medicinal voices to grow and enchanting listeners to journey inward through shadow and light, grounding and flight, awaking the imagination and inspiring a dance to lift the spirit.

From Santa Fe, New Mexico, Andrew has been visiting and nourishing his heart in Aotearoa since attending Wellington’s Uni Victoria in 2003. He is known as a percussionist in the Afro-Haitian dance community and for his acoustic arrangements captured in studios around the world. The latest Woven Talon album, Hajiko, was written in Aotearoa and recorded in Byron Bay, Australia.
