Growing food with nature

Growing food with nature

Presenter: Sheryn Dean

Gain the knowledge to raise your own fresh, flavoursome, organic, nutrient-dense, food. Planting, nurturing and harvesting takes effort, planning and knowledge, there is so much to learn. Led by Sheryn Dean, editor of Organic NZ, Sheryn will share practical information about a wide range of ideas, what works for her, and more importantly, how it could work for you. Her focus is always on maximising the nutrient content of food and working in harmony with nature.
Organics, permaculture, syntropic, organic, regenerative…there are multiple approaches to growing food in ways that are healthy for people and the environment.
I want to explain the processes involved in growing food naturally so participants understand how all these methods work and can apply them to any growing situation, methodology, or issue.
It is a little bit of science, a lot of observation and common sense, and questioning the “norm” of industralised growing. For instance, if you consider the process of photosynthesis, understand the correlation between roots and branches, and question the commercialisation of pruning, you understand the detriments and benefits of pruning and can choose which outcome suits your situation.
